Center for Healthy Sex presents a talk by Ruby Bouie Johnson, LCSW, LCDC, CMFSW, CSAT: "Black Sexuality and Relationships: Assumptions and Misconceptions in Practice" "The Sex Experts" is a monthly webinar series for sex therapists and specialists to present educational and informational material for the general public. Webinar Description: This webinar explores the assumptions that all clinical models of sexuality practice with individuals and couples are appropriate and effective with black individuals and couples, based upon the misconception that historical, political, and social oppression does not impact relational dynamics. Presenter Bio: Ruby B Johnson received her Bachelors of Social Work in 2002 from Texas Women's University and her Masters of Social Work in 2004 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Since 2003, Ruby's roles have included clinical practitioner, community and professional development educator, and graduate and under graduate adjunct professor. In private practice, her areas of expertise are substance use disorders, obsessive and compulsive sexual behaviors, attachment disorders, multi-cultural families and couples, gender expression/gender identity issues, consensual nonmonogamous partnerships/families, and Kink/BDSM. In August 2015, Ruby received her certification as a master forensic social work and is listed as an expert with addiction disorders. Additionally, Mrs. Johnson is a Credentialed Advance Mediator within the state of Texas. Most recently, Mrs. Johnson has been invited to present with the Center for Healthy Sex’s Sexpert Webinar and invited to write 5 essays for the upcoming Encyclopedia of Sex and Sexuality: Understanding Biology, Psychology, and Culture. Center for Healthy Sex (CHS) is a community therapy center in Los Angeles that specializes in the treatment of sexual dysfunction, sexual anorexia, porn addiction, sex addiction, and love addiction.
